THE JOY OF FORMER SORROWS

Recounting that crisis of my adolescent love, I feel something I cannot adequately explain, which is that the sorrows of that period, with the passage of time, spiritualize themselves into something akin to joy. I know this is not clear, but not everything is clear in life or in books. The truth is that I feel a special pleasure in recalling certain sad occasions, even knowing that they will remind me of others that I would not wish to remember for anything in the world.
